Our client wanted to replace their existing dashboard which wasn’t providing value to end users. The existing dashboard was clunky, had too many options that weren’t relevant to the tasks people were trying to perform, and had a style that didn’t fit the brand of the company.
I worked with the client’s business team to understand the specific scenarios for which users wanted to access the dashboard – rather than tens of widgets, we designed a dashboard that shows a handful of valuable, well-presented widgets. We focused on making sure that the dashboard aligned to the client’s brand and improving the ability of users to scan for information they needed. We exposed some power user features as one-click operations off the main dashboard.
